The Rt Hon Sir Anthony Evans QC
Sir Anthony has enjoyed a long and illustrious career in the legal profession.
Educated in Monmouthshire, he joined the Royal Naval Volunteer Reservists and served as a lieutenant commander between 1952 and 1954, before earning a law degree from St John's College, Cambridge, in 1957.
A year later, he was called to the Bar. Sir Anthony became a QC in 1971 and was made a court Recorder for the next two years. In the 1980s, Sir Anthony was a judge on the Wales circuit as well as at the High Court. Later he would sit on the Commercial Court.
He oversaw Welsh local authority reforms as Deputy Chairman of the Boundary Commission for Wales between 1989 and 1992.
Sir Anthony remains President of the Bar Musical Society, an honourary fellow of the Inernational Academy of Trial Lawyers and a Vice-President of the British Maritime Law Association.
He is also a member of the Royal Yacht Squadron and, in his spare time, enjoys sailing and music.
