Physical Health

Stethoscope.

How can we help?

Our physical health is inextricably linked with our day to day functioning and mental health.  If your physical health is compromised through short or longer term illness, disability or injury, counselling can help you to explore it's impact on your life and ways of coming to terms with or managing your situation.

Disorders like sleep disturbance or post viral fatigue/ME (CFS) can affect your functioning as can concerns over your own physical health, or someone else's health such as a partner, parent or friend etc.  Just as anxiety can be due to a physical/biological problem, sometimes we express our emotional pain through physiological (body) symptoms.  If your GP can’t find a physical cause for your problems, you may want to explore with a therapist if there is an emotional aspect to your symptoms.
