How can we help?

We can provide a safe and confidential place to explore issues related to identity or any sexual problems you may be experiencing.  Counsellors can also help you to find other specific support if this is relevant.

‘Sexual Issues’ covers a wide range of concerns from sexual identity and orientation, sexual difficulties in relationships to problem areas such as sexual addiction.  Some people suffer unnecessarily because they are too embarrassed or ashamed to talk with others about sexual issues.  Here, you will find links to information and resources and will see that it is common for people to have questions or worries.

The Relate website provides information on sex life common problems that can create difficulties in intimate relationships.  Included is information on sexual addiction which is the term used to describe any sexual activity which feels ‘out of control’.

Our sexuality and sexual identity is a central and important part of who we are and how we relate to others.  If you have questions or are experiencing difficulties around your sexuality, are uncertain about your own sexual identity or orientation or simply want to make social connections there are a range of resources in Cardiff and beyond.  You can find out about the social scene in Cardiff for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people and current Student Union campaigns from the Cardiff University Students’ Union LGBT+ Association or LGBT Society.

Stonewall is a national campaigning and lobbying organisation whose major successes include helping achieve the repeal of Section 28, securing civil partnerships and the recent Equality Act.
