Centre for Ideology Critique and Žižek Studies
The Centre operates at the intersection of politics, psychoanalysis, history and culture. Promoting research interests in critical and political theory, it encourages the study of Lacanian and Marxian frameworks with regard to their conceptual validity, empirical usefulness and political implications.
Stimulated by the pioneering work of Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek, the Centre explores the formation of ideologies against the background of the changes in the libidinal as well as the political economy of late capitalist societies.
We welcome proposals for postgraduate research on ideology critique and all aspects of the works of Žižek, Lacan and Marx.
