Cardiff University is an established and recognised university with a global profile.

In 2011 Cardiff University was ranked 135th out of approximately 10,000 universities worldwide, putting Cardiff in the top 1.5% globally.

In the latest assessment of research quality by the UK Government, Cardiff University was ranked 15th in the UK (RAE 2008 research power) and 33 out of 34 subject areas were found to be undertaking research of international or world-leading significance. In 2009 the University won it's third Queen's Anniversary Prize in 15 years and is one of the most decorated universities in the UK. The Prizes are awarded for "world-class excellence and achievement... in higher and further education."
