Exploring the Past: Courses
These highly innovative courses have been hand picked to open up new interests/perspectives, show-casing the quality of teaching and research from different disciplines within the School of History, Archaeology and Religion at Cardiff: the school in which we hope you will eventually study for a degree. The courses have been specifically designed to develop your writing & research skills, giving you the confidence to approach, use and interpret a variety of different types of sources including historical texts, literature, images, artefacts, built heritage and archaeology.
Despite its diversity & inter-disciplinary nature the Exploring the Past programme is bound together by some very important central themes: conceptions of power & gender, religion & belief, national & cultural identities, social inclusion/exclusion, and, of course, the uses & relevance of history - why the past is very much with us in the present!
