A major new scholarship scheme for 2013/14 entry has been launched by the University to help support talented postgraduate students.
The University has invested £500,000 in the new package of scholarships, aimed at attracting and retaining the brightest and best students and providing financial support in a challenging economic climate.
Each scholarship is worth £3000 and is available for full-time taught Masters’ programmes in any of the University’s three Colleges.
Those eligible to apply are Home and EU students who have or expect to achieve a First Class honours degree (or equivalent) at undergraduate level. Applicants must have been accepted for study at Cardiff before being considered for the award.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Colin Riordan said: "This significant new investment demonstrates that Cardiff is committed to attracting the brightest and best students to study for postgraduate qualifications with us.
"We know that postgraduate students can struggle to find financial support for their studies. This new scholarship package will give high-calibre students the opportunity to study at a world-leading, research-intensive university and help ease the associated financial burdens.
"These scholarships will not only help postgraduates further their careers but will provide highly-skilled graduates equipped for the workforce in Wales, the UK and internationally."
