The University is encouraging final year undergraduates to complete a national feedback survey which will help the students of the future.
The 2008 National Student Survey is under way, with final year students across the country being asked to complete an on-line questionnaire.
Students are asked about the quality of teaching, course organisation, assessment and feedback, academic support, learning resources and personal development. All Schools at Cardiff take the results of the Survey extremely seriously. Feedback from previous years has been used to help shape and improve the delivery and organisation of degree courses.
All final year students should have been contacted by e-mail by the Survey by now. The University and the Students’ Union is encouraging as many students from as many schools as possible to complete the questionnaire, which takes five minutes to complete.
Results of the survey are published nationally in the summer on a public website which is available to prospective students.
Pro Vice-Chancellor, Education and Students, Professor Jonathan Osmond said: "The National Student Survey results are considered annually together with other forms of student feedback. The University hopes that as many students as possible will respond, allowing Schools to build up an accurate picture of the undergraduate experience and to enhance their courses accordingly."
Students’ Union president Jonny Cox said: "The National Student Survey provides an institution with guidance on where it can improve - from a student’s perspective. It is an anonymous form of feedback by which any student can give an honest opinion about their time at University. If you have any views on your experience of Cardiff University and how it could be improved it is vital that you fill in the survey as it gives the University and the Union an idea of how the students are feeling."
