Replacement Identity Card
All students are issued with an identity card when they first enrol which is valid for the duration of their scheme of study and gives them access to University facilities (including the library).
How do I obtain a replacement student identity card?
You need to obtain confirmation of student status from the Registry Reception in person before proceeding to the Security Office on Park Place to collect a new ID card.
The Security Office will only issue student identity cards on production of confirmation of student status from Registry.
Do I need to provide identification?
Registry Reception will only provide confirmation of student status on production of either:
an original piece of mail bearing your name and either your semester time or vacation address; or
proof that you have enrolled (the yellow student copy of the enrolment form).
Please note that a valid NUS card is not acceptable proof of identification.
Can I have a new card immediately?
Registry Reception will confirm student status at any time during normal opening hours whilst you wait. A document authenticating student status will be provided to registered students on production of a valid means of identification.
The Security Office issue times are available from the Security Services web pages.
Is there a charge for replacement cards?
The Registry makes no charge for confirmation of student status. However, the Security Office makes a charge for replacement cards, and further details may be found on the Security Services web pages.
What if I have more questions?
Further guidance on these procedures may be obtained from Registry Reception. If you have any questions you would like to add to this site please contact us.
