Cathays Park Campus
There is expansion and improvement work planned throughout the University each year, some of this work will undoubtedly impact on car parking. The University has permanently lost car parking space to new projects in the past, and there is the possibility that further parking space will be lost.
We regret that, due to limited capacity, there is no provision for student parking, with the exception of students with disabilities, whose needs will be met wherever possible, and a limited number of permits available to residential students at selected Halls of Residence.
Anybody wishing to apply for a parking permit, or to join a waiting list, can do so by downloading, and completing, the relevant application form, available from the resources section of this page, or by contacting:
Mr Lloyd Bolt
Please note that the only criteria for allocation of a parking permit, or where insufficient capacity exists, position on a waiting list, is length of service with Cardiff University. The only exceptions to this rule are: newly appointed Professors, Heads of Administrative Directorates, or staff with disabilities.
The car park fees effective from 1st January 2010 are:
0.75% of salary to a maximum of £187.00
Associates / Contractors
£132.00 (Session 2010/11)
*NEW* Discounted employee parking at NCP ~ Dumfries Place
The University has negotiated discounted season ticket parking offering 24/7 parking at £187.50 quarterly or £62.50 monthly, for Cardiff University employees at the NCP Dumfries Place car park. Staff entering into an agreement with NCP do so solely as an individual; the University Car Parking Scheme has no control or involvement in these agreements other than negotiating on behalf of employees to obtain the best possible price and subsequently advertising the service to employees. If you are interested in this service please download the NCP Season Ticket Subscription Form and FAQs letter from the resources section of this page.
