20 credits, Autumn and Spring semesters
An introduction to the techniques and approaches that archaeologists employ when working with archaeological sites, excavations and excavated material. The module is also designed to prepare students for their fieldwork placement.
METHODS OF TEACHING: 14 lectures, 6 practical sessions and 5 one-day fieldtrips.
METHODS OF ASSESSMENT: 100% coursework - 50% laboratory work and 50% coursework
