Professor Phil Brown will present a talk on his book ‘The Global Auction: The Broken Promises of Education, Jobs and Incomes’ (Oxford University Press, 2011), at the Council of the European Union, on Thursday 19th January in Brussels.
He will also be debating 'What has happened to the labour market over the last ten years?' with Paul Gregg (Bath University), Stephen Timms MP (Shadow Financial Secretary to the Treasury) and Ali Moussavi (Policy Adviser, Office of the Leader of the Opposition) at a New Political Economy Network Seminar, 7pm-9pm on Tuesday 31 January. Conference Room, Guardian Newspaper, Kings Place, 90 York Way, London.
He will also present a talk outlining the implications of its findings for the future of industrial policy at the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Geneva in February.
