Home, Materiality, Memory and Belonging: Keeping Culture
The Gene, the Clinic, and the Family: Diagnosing Dysmorphology, Reviving Medical Dominance

The themes that the books address are culture, identity, and power in relation to space and materiality, knowledge and mundane practices. The scope of the projects include homes, mantelpieces, families, children, genetic science, medicine, cities and other urban spaces.
We are delighted to welcome Professor David Inglis (University of Exeter) and Professor David Morgan (University of Manchester) to talk about the importance of a focus on culture for sociology
