Double Nominee for Best Paper Award
15 May 2013
Every year the British Sociological Association (BSA) makes an award for papers judged to represent ‘excellence in the field’.
Papers are nominated and then judged by an independent panel of experts who select one of the nominated papers as the best paper published in each of the BSA’s four prestigious journals.
Professor Alan Felstead is a double nominee for two papers he published in Work, Employment and Society in 2012. Both draw on ESRC-supported research.
One examines how job preferences have changed between 1992 and 2006 in Britain, a period of relative economic prosperity.
The second examines if, how and to what extent training has changed since the economic crisis began in 2008.
The outcome of the judging process will not be known until the Work, Employment and Society Conference in September 2013 when the winner will be announced.
