As you may know, Roger Mansfield retired from the University on 31 January 2010.
Roger joined the University in 1976 as a Professor in the Department of Business Administration & Accountancy. He was appointed as its Head a year later and, following the UCC/UWIST merger, became the first Head of the Cardiff Business School. Roger stepped down as Head in 2005 and this marked 28 years as a Head of School.
Appointed Vice-Principal of UWIST (1985-1988), Roger served as Pro Vice-Chancellor between 1996-2002 and continued to take a leading role in the area of constitutional affairs. He also served as Head of School for JOMEC (2002-2003) and, more recently, SOHCS (2006-2010).
As Head of SOHCS he proved invaluable in building on the strengths of the School within the University as a whole, and everyone in the School of Healthcare Studies wishes him well in his retirement.
